Mr. Rue has 33 years’ experience as an investment consultant for various institutions and is the lead consultant to several large state and municipal funds and assists in consulting to several of the largest state pension funds in the United States. Mr. Rue joined the firm in 2019 as part of the merger between Meketa and Pension Consulting Alliance (PCA) and is a member of the firm’s Executive, Investment Policy, and Strategic Asset Allocation/Risk Management committees.
Prior to joining PCA in 1991, Mr. Rue spent seven years at the Russell Investments (formerly Frank Russell Company) in several product development and research-oriented capacities.
Mr. Rue received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Master of Business Administration in Finance and Statistics from the University of Washington. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Portland.
Mr. Rue has been a speaker at several industry conferences and panels, including Pensions & Investments, Pension Bridge, the CFA Institute, National Association of State Retirement Administrators (NASRA), National Council on Teacher Retirement (NCTR), National Association of State Treasurers (NAST), and State Association of County Retirement Systems (SACRS). The Money Management Letter recognized Mr. Rue as Consultant of the Year for Public Funds in both 2005 and 2011 and was nominated as Consultant of the Year by CIO Magazine in 2017 while at PCA.
