Mr. Omata joined Meketa Investment Group in 2008, and has been in the financial services industry for fourteen years. A Principal of the firm, Mr. Omata serves as Chair of the Fiduciary Services Committee which oversees the firm's discretionary client mandates. He is also a member of the firm’s Marketable Securities Investment Committee and Global Macroeconomic Committee. In addition, Mr. Omata is a member of the public markets research team, and leads due diligence efforts on non U.S. and global equity managers.
Prior to joining Meketa Investment Group, Mr. Omata was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York. Mr. Omata worked for the Chief Investment Officer of Goldman Sachs Investment Management, developing strategic and tactical asset allocation strategies. He also held positions with the Global Manager Strategies group and Private Equity group within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he was responsible for investment due diligence on public and private equity managers. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in Finance, Investments & Banking. Mr. Omata holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a member of the CFA Society of San Diego.
